This is the new look of the blog.  In all honesty, I need to figure out my focus.  Right now it’s more of a family and friends update place.  I could keep it that way, but I’d also like to do something more with the thing when I’m deployed.  I’d like to develop a wider audience in Fort Worth and perhaps Little Rock. 

The unit I’m deploying with, the 343rd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment (MPAD) is out of North Little Rock.  I think I’ll be able to count on one hand the amount of soldiers who live in Arkansas, much less near Little Rock.  From what I’ve learned, virtually the entire unit is made of two or three soldiers from units around America.  We’re pulling guys in from Reading, PA; Grand Prairie, TX; Nashville, TN and El Paso, TX.  It’s going to be a good makeshift unit because we all know three or four soldiers coming into the unit.  The unit cliques aren’t pre-made.  It’s going to take us a good month or two before we can form some solid Mean Girls like cliques :)  I know you’re thinking that soldiers in the United States Army should be above all that.  Let me be the first to tell you, public affairs soldiers can be some gossip little queens.  A year deployed should promote some good drama

I have a ton of things to write about some of the things Leslie and I have done the past month.  I’ve been putting them off choosing to design this site and get my own space to host the site.  I’ve also converted from Blogger to Wordpress.  Blogger is very limited in its design.  My biggest complaint was how wide my main area was for photos and video.  Now I have far more flexability.

Leslie and I are hitting up Las Vegas next weekend.  My boss gave me a gift certificate for two nights at the Rio and I’m using some of my American Airlines miles for our plane tickets.  This will be Leslie’s first trip to Vegas, and it should be exciting.
